Great-Grandma Bea's Ginger Cookies

I was sent these by Mom when I studied abroad in Israel... They arrived on Thanksgiving Day and were such a taste of home and of fall.  I shared them with Cortney, and we talked about how food is so much better shared.

3/4 c. crisco
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. molasses
1 beaten egg
2 c. flour
1/2 t. salt
2 t. baking soda
1/2 t. cinnamon
1/2 t. cloves
1/2 t. ginger

chill dough over night (at least 2-3 hours)
Roll into small balls and then in cinnamon and sugar
place on a greased cookie sheet (or silpat) 2 1/2 inches apart
Bake at 350 for 10 minutes
