The Callicott family made this for us when we visited them... I loved every bite.
thick slices of crusty bread
apple butter
thinly sliced apples
provolone cheese
butter
Spread apple butter on the slices of bread, and sandwich the layers of apples and cheese. Spread butter on the outside of the sandwich and grill in a hot skillet until golden brown.
A perfect fall sandwich!
