our neighbor in Manchester-by-the-Sea is a lobsterman, and he helped us procure wonderful lobsters at dock-price. our landlord came over, a Gloucester fisherman and eater of some 10,000 lobsters, and gave us a demonstration on the proper way to cook and eat a lobster.
Recipe is for 5 small (one pound) lobsters, though easily scalable)
Directions:
- Pour approximately one inch of water in the bottom of a large soup pot (10 gallons?)
- Place lid and bring to a rapid boil
- Place all lobsters into the pot and put lid on
- When water returns to a boil, wait 8 minutes
- Remove from heat and let cool for 20 minutes
- Remove from pot and serve
